Thames Valley Chess League

About the league

The Thames Valley Chess League has a current membership of 16 clubs fielding 33 teams. The league is open to chess clubs throughout the Thames Valley. The league operates 3 divisions, with promotion and relegation at the end of each season. Matches are played in the evenings, with the option of quickplay finish or slow play games with adjournments or adjudication.

The league also runs a knock-out competition where the matches must produce on the night and are therefore games are decided by a quickplay finish. The TVCL is affiliated to the English Chess Federation.
